We are able to drive the car for a couple of weeks, then the battery is dead. We jump it off and it starts right up. Will run for a couple weeks and battery will be dead again.
JA: Did you test the battery with a voltmeter? And have you ever changed one before?
Customer: Yes and no
JA: What is the model/year of your Pontiac?
Customer: 2008 G6
JA: Are you fixing your G6 yourself? What have you tried so far?
Customer: Yes. We have changed out the cable that attaches to the post and replaced a small piece, not sure what it was).

Has the battery been load tested to be sure its okay?

Has the charging system been tested to be sure its charging at 14 volts with the engine running?

Customer: replied 1 month ago.
No sir. I know nothing about cars.

Okay I would start first with having the battery and the charging system tested to be sure both are okay. You can stop by your local auto parts store such as Auto Zone and they will do both test for you at no charge. It could be that you simply have a weak battery. Have them both tested if you can and let me know the results and we can work from there if need be.
