Pontiac Problems? Ask a Mechanic for Answers ASAP
Hi Im David, thanks for visiting the site. sounds like you have a fuel pump issue if hitting the tank helped to start the car. what model is your pontiac and what size engine?
do not what?
i didnt offer one. i think the site does that automatically.
The fuel pump is located inside the gas tank, and the tank must be removed first. Once removed it's pretty straight forward. you are going to have to replace the pump.
something is loose inside the tank. its probably the wiring connector on the pump., once the tank is down you'll have a good view of the wire harness and connector. it is possible that the wiring to the pump is damaged and can be repaired and not replace the pump. either way the tank has to come down
