my car wouldn't start at work but the next a coworker took a hammer and start hitting the gas tank then it started right up but then next time i tried to start it wouldn't turn over and i just tried starting it today and it turn on just and to know whats really going on with my car
JA: Have you checked the battery, particularly the terminal connections? Are they corroded?
Customer: yes its a new battery

Hi Im David, thanks for visiting the site. sounds like you have a fuel pump issue if hitting the tank helped to start the car. what model is your pontiac and what size engine?

The fuel pump is located inside the gas tank, and the tank must be removed first. Once removed it's pretty straight forward. you are going to have to replace the pump.

something is loose inside the tank. its probably the wiring connector on the pump., once the tank is down you'll have a good view of the wire harness and connector. it is possible that the wiring to the pump is damaged and can be repaired and not replace the pump. either way the tank has to come down
