Customer Question

was told the blower motor had to be replaced although it was blowing hot air and sometimes a little cool. Had it replaced, didn't work. Now they say they have to take air conditioner apart at horrible expense.
JA: Have you checked the coolant level? Have you checked for a leak in the radiator? What is the make/model/year of your car?
Customer: they said they did all that at Pep Boys. The car is a Pontiac 96 Grand Am.
JA: What year is your Grand Am?
Customer: 1996
JA: Are you hoping to fix this yourself? What have you tried so far?
Customer: They replaced the blower motor, although the one they replaced was blowing cool then hot air. Thought we might trying putting freon in it ourselves.
JA: Anything else you think the mechanic should know?
Customer: Just the fact that I'm 80 yrs. old and feel taken advantage of . Have been going to this Pep Boys for 18 Years.
