Hello and welcome to JustAnswer!

I'm quite certain what you saw was a code for the evap system rather than HVAC. The HVAC system isn't part of the powertrain. Depending on what actual code i set an evap system issue could be as simple as a leaking or loose fuel cap, a damaged canister or line, the purge solenoid, tank pressure sensor, etc.

What P codes are setting?
