P0440 refers to a leak in the EVAP, which means the Evaporative Emission Control System which is used to prevent gasoline vapors from escaping into the atmosphere from the fuel tank and fuel system.

It could simply be a loose gas cap but can also be leaking hoses, etc. The dealer or any shop with a smoke machine should be able to find the leak using smoke.

The P1870 refers to a Transaxle Component Slipping.

Check the ATF level and condition (look for burnt fluid).

If ok, the Transmission may have internal damage (a mechanical fault).

Make sure the ecm has power to it also.
