I have a 84 pontiac fiero with a 2.5 My alternator has one plug with two wires.And one side mark battery.Does this one wire go direct to postive battery cable only.Thank you Phillip

Hello I will help you with your question,

The small red wire runs through a fuse link to the starter positive post and on to the battery positive post.

The large red cable runs directly to the positive post of the battery.

The brown wire runs to the ignition switch and is through a resistance wire to be battery voltage when the key is in the run position.
