I have a 2006 Pontiac vibe and have replaced the battery

Customer Question

I have a 2006 Pontiac vibe and have replaced the battery three times in the last four months. Just drove it three days ago with no problem after replacing the battery. Now it just groans and grumbles when I try to crank it. Radio quit working about six months ago. Only 35,800 miles on car. Yes I know that's not much. I don't drive much. Any ideas?
Thanks, Sharon

Why did you replace the battery three times?

Did the batteries test bad or did they just go dead?

Customer: replied 1 year ago.
New one in December 2014. It died and tested bad in Jan 2016. That one died and tested bad in February 2016 after about 4 weeks. Now the car won't start again. But at least the light comes on and it makes noise this time. Didn't the previous two times. And I misspoke. This is the third battery in a little over a year. Radio still won't work consistently. Occasionally comes on by itself at random times. I can live without it. Thanks.

I am sorry, I am back now.

Does it crank over now?

Customer: replied 1 year ago.
It tries but won't turn over
Expert:  Jeromy Madison replied 1 year ago.

Ok, turn over and cranking are the same. Firing is when it is actually starting.

Is it not turning over?

Customer: replied 1 year ago.
No. It makes a kind of grinding noise
Expert:  Jeromy Madison replied 1 year ago.

The battery is fully charged?

Customer: replied 1 year ago.
It was 2 days ago. And only a week old.
Expert:  Jeromy Madison replied 1 year ago.

Yes, but you will need to use a tester to check if it is still fully charged.

Have you tried to jump start it?
