Customer Question

I'm looking at purchasing an 02 Grand Prix gtp. The car had an attempted theft and the ignition lock tampered. Now the vehicle won't start. Seller states the ignition cylinder and anti-theft unit needs to be replaced. I'm not worried about the ignition cylinder, but would the anti theft unit really need to be replaced?

With a new key and lock cylinder and proper programming you'll be good to go.

I suppose it's possible that there is damage to the passlock sensor by the ignition. I can price that part for you if you'll be sure to leave a positive rating!
