Customer Question

I have a 96 Firebird Formula 5.7 6spd. On the rear lights. the tail lights by themselves work fine and the brake lights by themselves work fine. However, when the tail lights are on and I step on the brakes two of the four lights go out completely. One on each side. The other two continue to work as normal.

Hello and welcome to JustAnswer.

My name is Vlad.

Based on your description of the problem, it sounds like you have a bad ground issue.

All rear lights share the same ground G400 so you will need to make sure it is tight and clean. It should be attached somewhere near the rear compartment lid lock release actuator.

Please let me know how it goes.
