2006 Pontiac Grand Prix GT- on acceleration shifting feels

Customer Question

Customer: ***** *****- 2006 Pontiac Grand Prix GT- on acceleration shifting feels like slipping, or engine missing, jerky, sputtering feel, speedometer moving up and down or static, engine will rev up to about 3500 to 4000 and level out even when accelerator floored, shifting erattic. Had a code a while back that I believe was about shift selenoid but code went away. Now engine running wimpy with all the symptoms above. Engine seems to run smoothly when in neutral or park but levels out at about 4000 rpm or so.
JA: Thanks. Can you give me any more details about your issue?
Customer: above is all the info I have. Trans oil is not at maximum but is not below minimum mark either
JA: OK got it. Last thing — JustAnswer charges a fee (generally around $18) to post your type of question to Pontiac Experts (you only pay if satisfied). There are a couple customers ahead of you. Are you willing to wait a bit?

Expert:  john aka eaut replied 1 year ago.

can you monitor miss fires? or live data?

Customer: replied 1 year ago.
Not sure i can. My working knowledge and experience with this scanner is limited. I was thinking it could be a blocked converter? I can try scanner tomorrow
Customer: replied 1 year ago.
When i get to about 4000 rpm it goes flat. Jerky on acceleration. Worssens with more 0pen throttle. Light throttle not noticeable and smooth

it can be they are common to clog or melt down..... a back pressure test would confirm a restriction in the converter..

Customer: replied 1 year ago.
If it is converter im surprised there is no code or ck eng lite
Customer: replied 1 year ago.
How do I perform back pressure test
Customer: replied 1 year ago.
What if i remove the o2 sensor and see how it runs
