My 02 Grand Prix is idling rough. I had the catalytic converter replaced a few years ago and I just put a new mass air flow sensor on. The check engine light is on

I dont have a code
Expert:  Roy Belding replied 1 year ago.

ok, you said the light was on and that set a code. knowing tht code will narrow the area of failure. a parts store will check it for free for you.

egr valve is a common failure for running rough.

It's still running rough,I'm going to parts store today to see what code it's throwing, now the check engine lights blinking. I put MAF sensor on myself, hubby is on the road,I'm hoping the catalytic converter isn't bad again,I know Pontiac had a recall. So is the ERG valve something I could do??

yes. it is a straight forward job
