If the dressing helps the noise for a bit, inspect the belt for excessively shiny on the flat side and excessive cracks along the ribbed side. If there are any doubts, replace the belt. If the belt checks ok, remove the belt and and inspect the pulleys by spinning each by hand listening for any humming or squeaking. Make sure to include the A/C Compressor pulley in the inspection as these are common problem items.
