Customer Question

Tristan: 2007 G6 > we are having to get a new PCM. We have a convertible. Does the PCM control the convertible? And , if so, does that mean a used replacement PCM needs to be programmed per the VIN #? Thank you.

I am sorry for the long wait

yes the PCM is involved with shared inputs for the convertible top

any used or new PCM MUST be programmed to your cars VIN number for it to operate

if it is not programmed to your cars VIN number it will not work and a lot more than the convertible top will not work until it is programmed

Gary answer is correct. Now if you are having problems with the top more than likely a PCM is not the problem becUse it only prevent top move my if the vehicle moving or not in gear and can easily be checked with a scan tool. If you need more help please reply back also please give a positive rating. Thanks
