I have a 2006 Pontiac Montana. I have an AWD Disabled message on the dash. The tires are all good (new Geolanders). No odd noises. Handles well. Would like AWD for the winter. Any idea what the problem might be?

No trouble codes were thrown. So the computer was cleared and the message went away briefly. However, it is back.

you need to access bcm or tcm code with a good scan tool a basic code reader will not work

John, and whoever else may be interested: I did not rate this session not because John did not try to help me but because, due to what appeared to be problems with JustAnswers system during the time I was asking my question, I do not believe that I was able to get the complete service that I needed. It was not John's fault. This is why I asked for a refund the same day that I asked my question. If you look through the transcript above you will see that most of it is trying to communicate with John.
