Went to the drive in tonight. time to leave car would not

Customer Question

hi. went to the drive in tonight. time to leave car would not start. battery seems good, however, the security locking system seem to be the culprit( I hope) it is a convertible and has auto start. tried it, didn't work either. cycled the key several times to no avail. did raise the top at the drive in without running the engine. could have drained the battery, but headlights seem to be right on for brightness. the car is an 07 with 45k. think it could be the key fob?

Hello and welcome to JustAnswer. when you try to start the car, do you hear a clicking noise or anything?

Try turning on the headlights and turning the key to start the car. If the headlights dim, and the lights on your dash go out then your battery does not have enough power to turn the engine over. This happens a lot at the drive in because usually people use the car's stereo to listen to the movie with the engine off which drains the battery. The drive in by us actually has a guy who drives around and jump starts cars that have died when the movie ends. Hopefully this is the issue.
