Pontiac montana: I have a leak in the evaporator of my 2002

Customer Question

I have a leak in the evaporator of my 2002 pontiac montana. Any way to check if it is the fittings or the coil itself before teardown

you would have to charge the system up some in order to check, then use a leak detector or possibly using soapy water around the fittings and look if it makes bubbles. in order to check the evaporator core though the only way I know is sticking the leak detector in one of the ac vents with all of the other vents closed and run the ac and fan on high and see if the leak detector detects anything.
