Hi There, I'm Clayso a certified master automobile technician with 30 years of automotive repair and diagnostic experience and I'm here to help with this problem. Additional services may be offered for detailed information.
From your description there is air still in the system. On this system you have to bleed the air from the master cylinder first then the ABS unit or proportioning valve, depending if this vehicle has ABS. Then you can bleed the rest of the system. The links below are for bleeding the master cylinder and manually bleeding the system. The master cylinder can be bled on the vehicle it just takes two people. There is also a link for a master cylinder bleed kit in case one did not come with the master cylinder.
