Customer Question

2001 grand prix will not shift into first unless you come to a full stop

If I slow down to 5-10 mph and give the gas it will bang into first. If I come to a stop it shifts down to first smoothly.

Hello my name is ***** ***** I'll be happy to help you today, when you replace the clutches did you inspect the input housing for scoring and the valve body for sticking valves
Customer: replied 1 year ago.
No, I did not open the valve body
Expert:  Edgar replied 1 year ago.
Unfortunately, you're going to have to remove the valve body and replace it due to sticking valves and you need to remove the input housing and inspect it for scoring in input clutch piston, when there is scoring in the housing the piston bind causing seal to loose pressure
