Pontiac Problems? Ask a Mechanic for Answers ASAP
2006 Pontaic Solstice. There are two latches near the seats on the trunk lid, with cables attached. They don't seem to operate anything.
Roof operates property. These are on the outside just next to the seat backs. The truck opens via a switch button in the glove box.
These two latches are the same color as the car. About 3" x 6 " and have a cable attached. The are flush with the car. When you attempt to opem them, you see an attached cable, but they don't seem to have a purpose.
When opened they provide some small access into the truck. I had though they might be some type of manual trunk release. But that would allow anyone to access the trunk. But they do not release the trunk latch.
The owners manual does not mention these little doors.
They kind of look like small aviation flaps, when in the open position.
No: They are not on the trunk. They are on the area just between the trunk and seats on the top outside area.
I visited with another Solstice owner. The flats/latches open when the top is pulled up to accommodate the top support frame.
Thanks for checking.
