I have a 2006 Pontiac Montana SV6. The 2 key fobs that came with the van have died. I have since bought new key fobs but was wondering if it was absolutely necessary to have the dealership program these, or can I do this myself?

Any information would be greatly appreciated.

I know this isn't the answer you want to hear, but there is no published procedure for programming the key fobs without using a scantool. The good news is that you don't necessarily have to go to a dealer. Some of the high end scantools have this capability. Check your local repair shops first!
