Hi, my name is Tim, is there a security light illuminated on the dash? when you try to start it?
Customer: replied 4 years ago.
no light
Expert:  Tim Mohr replied 4 years ago.
ok, then you most likely have a bad switch , the transmission range switch, this switch only allows it to start in park and nuetral, if it bad, it wont start at all, can you try putting the trans in nuetral and seeing if the starter turns?
Customer: replied 4 years ago.
i put it in nuetral and still nothing -

ok, do you have a test light or a volt meter? we can check the voltage at the switch?
Customer: replied 4 years ago.
i do have a volt meter but not sure what to check
Expert:  Tim Mohr replied 4 years ago.
the switch is on the top of the transmission, where the shift cable attaches to the trans, there is pink wire and a orange/black wire, and others, check the pink wire for 12 volts when cranking, if it has 12 volts, then check the orange/black wire for 12 volts when cranking, can you do this?
Customer: replied 4 years ago.
everything checked out good - it is working now - i believe it was in the lock cylinder - it was sticky and not turning well - i removed the cylinder and lubed it -now it working . thank you
