how can i acess the fuel filter to put on a new one in a 2004 pontiac grand prix

The fuel filter is located on the cross member just in front of the fuel tank. Best access will be from under the vehicle.

im under the car still cant find it

Its mounted to the cross member, right in front of the fuel tank. Some models have a plastic protective shield over the filter.

yo ron i have crawled all the way in front of the gas tant...i see a plastic cover or metal cover on bottom...still can find it!!

Follow the fuel lines forward from the fuel tank on the drivers side of the vehicle and you should see the fuel filter. Refer to picture below. Arrow points toward front of vehicle.

i followed the fuel lines to the gas tank..dnt see it..is it in front of the driver side tire??

That is the location shown in the service manual. Kind of under the rear seat area, closer to the drivers side. It is against the frame rail, just like in the picture.
