the car. Initially, it was just that they would not lock the car. Now, it won't unlock it either. I just replaced the batteries in both. I wonder if it's something else besides the remote?
My key won't open the door.

Will the door locks work from the inside door switch? do you see the lights flashing when you lock or unlock? does the trunk button work?
Customer reply replied 5 years ago.

the inside switch in the door does work.

the trunk button does work on the door, and the remote.

the lights go on, but I don't think they flash. But, I'm not sure about that point.

Hello, I'm Cam. Please include all the details about your issue so I can accurately advise you. I cannot see your vehicle so please be detailed.

Do you use both remotes equally?
Did both fail at the same time?
Customer reply replied 5 years ago.

No, both remotes did not fail at the same time. They failed months apart.

No, I don't use both remotes equally. One is just a backup remote.

The trunk button and the alarm button on the remotes work, but the door open & close buttons on both remotes do not work. One battery is brand new, and the other was tested at radio shack last night and is good.

I had to climb in through the trunk to unlock the back door, because I could not get in any other way. The key does not open the door either!

Ok, try taking the covers off but with the battery held in place. Use a coin to bridge the contacts the pads hit and see if the door locks respond. If so then you need new remotes , if not then the remote control door lock receiver.
