97 pontiac grand am: 2.4l..radiator hose..housing from manifold there

Resolved Question:

Trying to change thermostat on 97 pontiac grand am 2.4l. I removed upper radiator hose which is connected to housing. When I removed housing from manifold there was no thermostat located . Can you explain to me where it is located and how to get to it and/or show me a photo of the location?

Hello and welcome, the thermostat is located on the back side of engine in a pipe that meets the water pump.


Remove the thermostat (2) and the seal (1) from the outlet pipe (3).
