Hello, I'm Cam. Please include all the details about your issue so I can accurately advise you. I cannot see your vehicle so please be detailed.
There are usually 2 but could be 3. There is only one small wire to the small stud and could be two larger wires.
to the bigger stud.
I replaced the starter after having it tested at an auto part store.. when discconecting the wires i thought there were 3 wires one small one, one larger one and one that went on the large stud that also hold the wire to the cylinoid.
That sounds correct.
Teh alternator wire I think goes to the large stud of the alternator.
It does not seem like i am getting battery power to the starter. I even tried jump starting it after i installed the new starter. any suggestions?
Does the starter click?
doesnt sound like it
IS there power to the small stud with the key in crank/>
how can I chech that/
with a test light held to the small stud wire with the key held in crank.
I can do that.. what would be the problem if im not getting power?
lets cross that when we get there. LEave the page open and try.
I amd getting power to the small stud. Im using a cheap 12 volt tester and the indicater light is very dim
ok, is it bright if you touch the battery stud there?
Do you mean the actual stud on the battery or the stud on the starter?
very dim on both but a little brighter on the actual battery
Ok, so is your battery any good? IF you have any doubts and I will say I do, take it out and have it tested .
Thank u. I will do that.. is ther any way i can get back in touch with u if i have any more problems?
