why would the security light come on when you turn the key on and wont go off

This is typically caused from the Computer NOT recognizing the Resistor Code.
This is basically the fault of the Ignition Cylinder, Wires at the Ignition Cylinder or the BCM.
If the engine starts & runs "with the Security Light On", then it is a fault with the BCM


You can try ;

Be sure Battery is fully charged

  • Attempt to the start vehicle.
  • The vehicle will stall.
  • Leave the ignition ON until the Theft System telltale turns OFF (approx.10 minutes) .
  • Turn OFF the ignition switch.
  • Attempt to the start vehicle.
  • The vehicle should start on the this attempt.

    Tried to start the vechial but nothing happend, it wont start and the security light keeps flalshing.

    Be sure Battery is fully charged & all Battery connections are clean & tight

    Disconnect the Positive Battery Cable
    Open Driver Door & leave open
    Turn Ignition Switch to ON position & leave on
    Reconnect Positive Battery Cable
    Try to start vehicle

    If the above does not work:

  • Leave the ignition ON until the Theft System telltale turns OFF (approx.10 minutes) .
  • Turn OFF the ignition switch.
  • Attempt to the start vehicle.
  • The vehicle should start on the this attempt.

    If the above does not work, then you will need to test voltage at the ignition switch to the Park / Neutral Safety Switch & to Starter
