need to change the transmission fluid in a 2005 pontiac montana. I am having trouble finding the plug can you tell me where it is
Hi, there is no drain plug for the transmission. You have to drop the entire transmission pan to get the fluid out. This will be difficult to do on the ground and not make a mess. Please reply if you have any questions, thanks

Yes, 7 liters or 7.4 quarts is what you will need.

is it easy to replace the filter and easy to find once pan is off

Very easy, buy one first and you will see the one on the vehicle very easily. It just pulls off, but it might take a bit of pulling or prying but it shouldn't be hard.
