Which engine do you have? Automatic transmission or manual?

Your Firebird has the Passkey security system. This system reads the chip in the key to prevent theft. The most common problem with these systems is the two small wires coming off the ignition lock cylinder eventually break. Replacing the ignition lock cylinder in the steering column should fix your problem.

The starter enable relay is located behind the driver`s side kick panel. Listen for the relay to click when turning the key to start.
