I have a Bradford Model U45036FRN 50 gal water heater. Over the past months the pilot light was going out more and more. Now it will not even come on. What's wrong? Does the Honeywell controller need replace or something else wrong?
JA: How long has this been going on? And how severe is the problem?
Customer: The past months ever once in a while until the past week then almost everyday.
JA: Do you plan on doing the work yourself?
Customer: Yes.
JA: Anything else we should know to help you best?

Disconect the pilot tubing where it connects to the gas valve then push the pilot light button and see if you have any gas at that connection.

Gas into the valve but not out of the valve.

Ok if you have nothing out of the pilot port when you hold down the button to light it then the valve is faulty. If it is less than 6 years old it should be under warranty.
