Customer Question

I have no water pressure at the outlet. I have checked the water in the well, that's good. I have a new, one month old pump. I just checked the pressure in the holding tank and it was 38 lbs. and the pressure gage on the main waterline reads <10 lbs.
JA: How long has this been going on? And how severe is the problem?
Customer: We have been very conservative with our usage for the last 3 months. I replaced the pump as it burned out from running with low water and no low water shut off. This situation I am writing about just started this AM.
JA: Do you plan on doing the work yourself?
Customer: Yes.
JA: Anything else we should know to help you best?
Customer: One thing that is odd to me is that if you close the outlets and wait 5 minutes the water presser will return but will only last a couple of minutes.

Sounds to me like you have a leak in the bladder of your pressure tank.

Drain the water out of the system with the pump off and then check the pressure in the tank.
