Customer Question

My water heater is Rheem model 312.180.15. The capacity is 180 litres. When I turn on the tap I manage to get only a few seconds of slightly warm water. The copper pipe above the valve remained hot whereas the copper pipe below it and the other copper pipe leading to the tap became cold. Therefore I could not get hot water.

There are only a few things that could be wrong.

  1. You have a bad element
  2. You have a bad dip tube
  3. You have a bad thermostat
  4. Power was disconnected

Have you verified that the circuit breaker hasn't been tripped?
