Hi my name is ***** ***** I have been in the plumbing field for 20 years. I will be glad to help you today. Did you replace the valve body in the wall or the cartridge? Did you also get a new handle and cover plate?
Is this one of the parts that you replaced? click here What was the issue before you changed parts?
Were they Danco aftermarket parts or Kohler brand parts? Was the package opened or sealed?
Does the valve have stop valves or did you have to turn the main water off?
Will you turn the water shut off on your water heater off and tell me how the shower operates with the water heater turned off?
I understand but will you try what I suggested and tell me the result? This is a test that will help me to determine what the issue is.
I understand that there is hot water everywhere else and that the issue is isolated to the shower. The issue is either that the pressure balance cartridge is stuck or the gasket is not seated properly. You would have to remove the cartridge and inspect that the gasket is seated well in the groove and inspect the pressure balance cartridge for any debris. Once the cartridge is out then turn the water on and then off to flush any debris that may be in the valve body. Re-install the parts and that will get it working like it should.
I haven't heard from you. Was the information I provided helpful?
