Does the valve have stop valves or did you have to turn the main water off?

The faucet leaked and water would not get hot the sink is getting hot water not the shower

Will you turn the water shut off on your water heater off and tell me how the shower operates with the water heater turned off?

Customer: replied 4 months ago.
After replacing those parts and turning water back on the valve does not turn the water off
Expert:  Mike R. replied 4 months ago.

I understand but will you try what I suggested and tell me the result? This is a test that will help me to determine what the issue is.

Customer: replied 4 months ago.
I can't do it now I have three bathrooms the other two have hot water and the bathroom in question has hot water
Expert:  Mike R. replied 4 months ago.

I understand that there is hot water everywhere else and that the issue is isolated to the shower. The issue is either that the pressure balance cartridge is stuck or the gasket is not seated properly. You would have to remove the cartridge and inspect that the gasket is seated well in the groove and inspect the pressure balance cartridge for any debris. Once the cartridge is out then turn the water on and then off to flush any debris that may be in the valve body. Re-install the parts and that will get it working like it should.
