I have a rinnai RL94i that was professionally installed

Customer Question

I have a rinnai RL94i that was professionally installed 8-15. It has worked well until this afternoon. It shows no error codes but not producing hot water. I cleaned the input filter and still nothing.

When you run hot-water can you hear the fan come on?
Customer: replied 11 months ago.
No
Expert:  WCohn replied 11 months ago.
you have proven there is power to the heater?
Customer: replied 11 months ago.
Temp display is lit up. It will turn on and off. I tried unplugging the unit and plugging it back in. I can hear a series of sounds like an initial startup sequence. Gas is flowing to other appliances.

But the fan never comes on? This is key.
Customer: replied 11 months ago.
There is a small amount of air flow coming out of the exhaust bent outside but I can hear the fan actually come on.

Vent... Not bent

the fan is coming on?
Customer: replied 11 months ago.
I can't hear the fan come on... There is a small amount of air flow coming from the vent outside. My guess is the fan is not coming on.

You either have a bad flow sensor or it is stuck
Customer: replied 11 months ago.
I just unplugged it again and it came back on and is working now.

Great. Do you have hard water?
Expert:  WCohn replied 11 months ago.
I'll bet you have scale build up and it caused it to stick.

No thanks.

OK, I'd recommend flushing the unit. And I'd appreciate a positive rating it's the only way I get credit for my time. Thank you and have a great night
