No reason to be scared. Every problem has a solution. Is your house on a slab?

yes

Ok, then the most likely culprit is a broken pipe under the slab to these 2 outlets. You can confirm this by turning off all the fixtures in the house so no water is running then go to your water meter and see if the indicator is moving at all. If it is then that's pretty good confirmation of a hidden leak under the slab. If you confirm the leak then the next step would be to call a leak detection service to locate the leak so it can be fixed.

the plumber this morning said the meter wasnt running when he turned off water.....i think he left because he was completely baffled....he said the whole house would have to be torn up to find out what is wrong....

Another possibility assuming there is no leak is that the line to these outlets is crushed. If that's the case then the solution is to run a new line to these outlets. Tearing up the house is pointless and needlessly destructive.

who would i call to see if line is crushed??? still a plumber or leak detection service....
Expert:  Rick replied 1 year ago.
You'll need a plumber to run the new piping (probably best to call a different one). If the line is crushed there is no leak as your plumber seems to have indicated.
