Charles : Hello, and thanks for your question!!
Charles : Is the water running into the bowl or into the tank?
Customer :

it's running into the bowl... very slowly. flapper is sealed, almost seems like the large plastic nut is not secure enough because even when water is below flapper, the water is still leaking into bowl... not used to working on sterling toilets with 3 bolts and unique gasket.

Charles : They are different, but still the same problems, lol
Charles : The gasket is probably bad
Charles : how old is the Toilet?
Customer :

the gasket is brand new as well... just replaced. confirm the order... white nut, then plastic gasket that attaches to 3 screws...

Charles : yes.
Charles : How old is the toilet?
Customer :

97... worked until today... took off back to paint behind. no previous issues.

Charles : ok, there are a couple of things that will cause this.
Charles : #1, the tank has a crack at the point where the nut and gasket is allowing water to get into the bowl.
Charles : #2, you have junk causght between the tank and gasket.
Charles : #3, you need to tighten the bolts more.
Customer :

I've checked the tank thoroughly, cleaned each joint as well as I could and tightened to the point that I'm worried I'm going to crack the toilet... oh well.

Charles : Does the tank wiggle any??
Customer :

not a bit.

Charles : let me check something, BRB
Charles : ok, still here?
Customer :

yes...

Charles : did you also replace the filler tube?
Customer :

all of it...

Charles : im going to opt out so another expert can help you that may have another idea.
Customer :

ok, have to go...

Charles : you rated my service as bad?
Customer :

Yes... no answer. Same ideas I had and no suggestions. Long duration and kept me waiting.

Charles : how did i keep you waiting? I have no idea what you know for one thing. And I never kept you waiting, Iwas trying to find a solution to problem you created. When you leave a negative rating it counts against me and makes it look like I didnt do my job.
Customer :

Sorry Charles... when you tried to "hand me off" to someone else, the job didn't get done, right? I didn't get any answers or expertise I epected.

Charles : Nice, good luck.
Customer :

Expert is offline... for the record.

Customer :

how do i conclude this session... it's been 30 minutes with not help.
