I have a Rinai 2530 model that was installed about 7 years ago. It has a separate control panel off to the side. When we set the temperature on the control panel to anything but 108 degrees it continually reverts bck to the 108 temperate. Why or what is wrong?
Already Tried: Cleaned the small in line filter and reset it. did no good.
First off it does not have a built in thermostat. It is off to the side and a completely seperate box from the water heater. Second if water heaters are maintained and preventive maintenance is done they last way longer then 6-9 years. My last one was over 20 years old. Rinnia is one of the top of the line on demand water heaters and has a warranty of 5 to 10 years depending on which part. Why would they warranty it for that period if it went bad in 9 years? To me you sound like a money hungry plumber that I would never hire. Your answer does not make sence. You say a built in thermostat and then you say replace the controller. Replacing the controller is what I thought I needed to do but you sorta confirmed that so I will give you some credit. But I won't do this again!
You are right. We plumbers can be greedy and rinnai is an excellent product, the best in my opinion. I don't think plumbing pro is one of those guys though. We do want to make some money, for sure but to be an expert on justanswer you have to like helping people. I don't think there is anything wrong with your rinnai. You have you have a Tap running when you adjust for your desired temperature. Let me know if that works. If not let me know and we can work it out. Thanks, mike.
Experience: i have been doing plumbing work for 20 years. lots of work on high end homes along with a lot of service work.
