All the brands you mention are very good, but I would agree with you. I personaly like and use the bell & gossett line they are always very dependible as you know.
series 100 need to be oiled and noisy. I would prefer to avoid oiling and less noise, but I want this pump to last 15 years + as my old one, and I am concerned about newer model.

Yes In both boiler circulation and domestic hot water . If your interested in a quiet pump with no I oiling would suggest the Grundfos line, it has sealed bearings and is extremly quiet.

Hi, I have used all three pumps over about 30years. My main one was the B&G. I installed one on my new house , 10 years later the seals went out on it. Its a easy fix if your handy and pump last for years.I Yes I am on-line I am answering your question .

I also have a problem with the seal on my Bell & Gossett series 100 which I have for 15 years. Does it mean that I can get the pump or just the seal changed?Plumbers say that I should change to a newer model, but relaibility is going to be only a few years, and they want $500 for this. This is why I am not sure I I shouldn't get a new series 100. What should I get?
I switched to Groundos and used them for 20 years with no problem. Most of my plumber friends use them the most. Hope this helps you. Sorry for the long wait I having some problem with my computer

Can I expect 15 years of service fron a Grundfos? I am also concerned as the Groundfos has less horse power than series 100.Can I get the seal changed on my current series 100?is a pump like this worth $410 + labor $100?can the Grundfos replace the series 100 without the need to modify the plumbing?

The plumbers I called said that the pump need to be changed. Do they need to buy a replacement seal and is it easy to change?
I would change seals , bearings, or what ever. I seen BG last for 40 years
Yes it is very easy to change, read the directions good on package.
How much time should a plumber take to remove the pump, fix it and put it back? One hour?
Yes, tho if you don't have isolating vales he will have to drain some of or all the system, may take longer.
Also you have to add his travel time to your place and back

You can't go wrong with the B&G for reliable, also the grundfos I had many over 20 years with no problems. It is just like anything else, you may get a faulty one from any manf. esp the way they make things today.
Also the B&G to some over 20 years, as long as you oil and don't over oil them

the whole thing started when a plumber from a large heating support group said that the best I can get of any pump other than the original series 100 is 8 years
Should I get a Grundfos and get my plumbing adapted, although it has less power and may be less reliable?

If it was me, I wouldn't be afraid of the Grundfos, I had good luck with them.
