This answer was rated:

I have a small leak in the plastic hot water supply line at the plastic/copper connection fitting to the shower control unit. It is dripping about 1/2 cup per day. I would like to repair the leak without going to the trouble of cutting out and replacing the fitting. Any recommendations?

Welcome to Just Answer, I will do my best to help you solve your problem

Rick the plumber :

You can't repair this without cutting out and replacing the fitting. This line is constantly under pressure.

Rick the plumber :

Anything else will not be a permanent fix

Customer:

Is there a "temporary" fix you could recommend?

Rick the plumber :

the only temporary fix that might work is to wrap the pipe with rubber gasket material then use a hose clamp or clamps over the gasket material and tighten down the clamps. This works well if the leak is in the middle of the pipe, it's not as effective on a leak at a joint

Customer:

OK ... Thanks.
