Does it pump oil? Is the spark there but no oil?

Customer: replied 6 years ago.

As far as i am aware, the burner is a gravity feed. there was oil when i cleaned the filter just before the tip of the burner.

at the moment the lock out button needs to be pressed to start the burner.

when I do this there is a sissiling sound, but fails to fire.

How do I check to see a spark?

Do I take the burner out of the boiler to fire & to view?

Would the previous bad bearing noise from burner relate to the Air Damper? Do I need to fix? or replace?

My hypothesis is the bearing is out of the oil pump. The sizzling noise is most likely the ignition transformer. This also leads me to believe the problem is lack of oil injection.

If the boiler is over 15 years old I would plan on replacement.

Otherwise I would have the pump checked.
