series 40 riello burner...on the fuel pump what is the adjustment

series 40 riello burner...on the fuel pump what is the adjustment? when turned in does this reduce or increase fuel flow... i am trying to obtain best air to fuel ratio and a clean burn. Presently using a 2.5 gal nozzle

I believe that clockwise turn on adjustment will increase the outlet pressure and counter clockwise will decrease pressure. Increasing will also make you use more fuel also. So the best way to adjust is with te air band once you find where it burns the best when increasing the pressure.
