I HAVE A LEAD TOILET FLANGE THAT IS BROKEN COMPLETELY OFF. CAN I REPAIR THIS AND HOW?

there are a few ways all require a decent level of ability

1) depending on how bad the lead is you can use a deep floor flange on 3 and 4 inch

2) if the lead is bad you need to get a a lead repair collor and solder it to the existing lead and extend it then put on a new flange ( this one needs a great level of experince beacuse lead melts at a lower temp )

3) cut it at the joint and re do it in PVC

WOULD A HOME DEPOT HAVE A DEEP FLOOR FLANGE?

IF I RE DO IN PVC HOW FAR DOWN IS THE JOINT GENERALLY?

yes home depot has them i have bought them at my local ones in elmont and jericho as well as syssot ( basicly most have them )

and if you replace the hole thing here is the step by step

1) remove the toilet

2) go underneath you will see the lead where it bends into the stack you should see a swolen part that is usualy silver witha a sawzall cut the pipe away from the hub of the stack and as close to the part where the silver swolen part beguins STRAIGHT AND LEVEL

3) remove the lead bend you may have to cut it in half

4) put a 4 X 3 no hub clamp on the pipe you just cut

5) now size it up witha 3 inch pvsXXXXX90

6) go back upstairs place the new flange on the floor and get your drop piece measured

7) glue and assyemble

8) iff possible secure the flange with anchors or band iron

9) reset the toilet

10 ) clean up the mess so you dont get yelled at

partts needed

1-4x3 no hub clamp or frenco

1-3inch pvc 90

1-3inch street 90

3-feet of 3 inch pvc pipe

glue and primer

band iron
