Thank you for your question. Is the rash associated with an area where tape had been applied to the skin in the last month? Is the breast red or warm or is there any increase in swelling? Do you have a fever? I am available if you have more questions.

Customer: replied 1 year ago.
He removed the bandages and I removed the tape that was on the suture when I got home...the redness is under my breast and the port is closer to my armpit...the pain comes and goes...
Customer: replied 1 year ago.
Was I supposed to remove the tape that was on there after he removed the bandage???
Customer: replied 1 year ago.
No fever...
Expert:  Plastic Surgeon replied 1 year ago.

It was alright that you removed the tape. It sounds like a tape reaction and not an infection. Can you send a picture of that area?

Customer: replied 1 year ago.
Ok yes I'll send you a pic...
Customer: replied 1 year ago.
Did you get the 2 pics???
Expert:  Plastic Surgeon replied 1 year ago.

Did not receive any pictures.

Customer: replied 1 year ago.
I'm not able to send the pics on here...

Pics...
Expert:  Plastic Surgeon replied 1 year ago.

Does your doctor know about this rash? I received one picture but it is very blurred and not clear.

Customer: replied 1 year ago.
Here is another pic...yes he saw it,but didn't tell me what is was...
Customer: replied 1 year ago.
What does it look like to you???
Expert:  Plastic Surgeon replied 1 year ago.

It looks like some redness associated with tissue expansion. It does not look like an infection.

Customer: replied 1 year ago.
When will it go away and I'm on generic Bactrim for 10 days...took my fourth one tonight...can he continue to expand it???
Expert:  Plastic Surgeon replied 1 year ago.

It should go away. Bactria is alright but there are other antibiotics that you could be on. As long as the area has softened, tissue expansion can continue.

Customer: replied 1 year ago.
But if it doesn't look like an infection what other antibiotics do I need???
Expert:  Plastic Surgeon replied 1 year ago.

Bactria is alright but there are other antibiotics that could have been used. You need no other antibiotic at this time.

Ok Thank You so much for putting my mind at ease...should I put something on it or let it heal on its own???
Expert:  Plastic Surgeon replied 1 year ago.

Let it heal on its own.

Customer: replied 1 year ago.
Ok Thank You for your help and patience...you put my mind at ease...
