I am a 35yr old female had 3 kids relatively young. Youngest is soon turning 9. Need a boob lift and tummy tuck just for starters....but that would probably b enough to make me a lot happier with my body...i am three hours from Sydney Australia so what and who do recommend? And what price and what time off work am i looking at for both procedures?????

Plastic Surgeon : Thank you for your question. Breast surgery and abdominal surgery can be performed at the same surgical procedure. The breast procedure will usually involve an implant and possibly a breast lift. The abdominal procedure involves tightening the abdominal muscle, possible liposuction and removal of the excess skin. This is a typical abdominoplasty. The procedures are performed under general anesthesia in a surgical facility where you may want to stay overnight since you live 3 hours from Sydney. Total cost including the anesthesiologist and facility fee could be between $10,000 abd $15,000. To find a certified, experienced plastic surgeon, the best way is to call a few offices and talk to the office manager. You should ask her how many of these procedures are performed in that office. Even then, you may want to have at least 2 consultations before you make your decision. You will need at least 2-3 weeks off work depending on what you do. If you do lifting and reaching at work, you may need 4 weeks off work.

Plastic Surgeon : I am sorry that you are not satisfied with my response. The surgeons that I am familiar with in Sydney are the Silkwoid medical group (Dr. Nettle and Dr. Norris) and Dr. Perkins. But, you may know of another qualified plastic surgeon in Sydney. A breast lift(mastopexy) is not always required unless the nipple is below the level of the inframammary crease. In that instance a lift should be done and possibly an implant, if needed. An examination is required to determine that. As far as the abdomen is concerned, if there is excess skin, then an abdominoplasty is needed. Liposuction alone will cause more excess skin. What other questions do you have that I can answer?

Plastic Surgeon : If you are considering the surgeries at 2 different times, then each procedure requires between 2-4 weeks without lifting, reaching or any exercise. The cost of breast surgery including anesthesia and surgical facility is $5,000-$7,000. The cost of abdominoplasty including anestthesia and surgical facility is $6,000-$8,000. Insurance rarely covers these procedures, unfortunately.
