If I were to get a nose job can it be done in a way that is very suddle. I have an average nose just wondering if it can still look real, and how do you choose a dr?

Plastic Surgeon : Thank you for your question. Nose surgery (rhinoplasty) can and should be performed according to what you want. You need to be examined and you need to discuss what you are interested in with one or more board certified plastic surgeons. When you find a plastic surgeon who can meet your pre-operative expectations and you are comfortable with him, then you have to decide what you want to do. Nasal surgery can be performed under local or general anesthesia as an outpatient. There are all degrees of nasal surgery and it is up to you and your surgeon to be very clear about what you want before surgery. If you tell me what area of the country you are in, I may be able to give you some names of board certified plastic surgeons.

Plastic Surgeon : What can be achieved with nasal surgery depends on what you want and on the findings of your nasal examination. The nose is essentially composed of skin, upper and lower cartilage, septal cartilage and bone. Changing one of these structures may necessitate the changing of another portion of the nose. That is where the expertise of the surgeon is very important and just as important, is what you want done. Being conservative in nasal surgery is usually a good idea.

Plastic Surgeon : There are a number of ways to choose a board certified plastic surgeon. One way is to look online for plastic surgeons in your area. Another way is to ask a friend if they know of a plastic surgeon. You could always ask your family physician or gynecologist for a referral. Another way is to call your local hospital and talk to the medical staff secretary and ask her for the names of board certified plastic surgeons that are on staff.
