Now that Restilyn and botox have been on the scene for a while. Did the cost come down at all? Is there generic? My doc wanted to give me 2 vials of Restilyn for creases around my mouth. They said it would cost $1000 every 6 months. Too much money for me. Is there generic or can you suggest how to shop for this service. It's never covered by insurance so I don't care about going outside my insurer network. I live in the Cleveland Ohio area.

Answer you have received is correct. You should not smoke as this causes creasing and aging of the skin. Use sun screens and moisturizers.Shop around as mentioned because this price is dependent on how much needs to be done and varies from physician to physician. Please make sure that if this is done, that you chose a Dr. with certification and experience.

Thanks for your reply. I don't think a chemical peel is good for me. I have some mild rosacia that I keep under control with antibiotics and metrogel. I'm thinking about going back to plastics for a new evaluation since it's benn 3 years. They recomended the injections, but it's over my budget and I just wondered what my alternatives are. I hear about lifestyle lift on TV and I don't know what that is. I live near University Hospitals of Cleveland. I'll call them, but I'm not optomistic that they would be cheaper than the 20% I get off the procedure at the hospital where I work.
The lifestyle lift probably will not do much for the lips. Injection with approved tissue fillers is best for the lips but expensive. I'm glad to rosacea is under control and probably would "act up" with chemicals or dermabrasion. You might consult with a makeup "artist" who may be able to give some good advice. If you are working at a hospital and able to contact or run into a plastic surgeon, perhaps they might consider the filler injections at a considerable discount. A consultation to discuss alternatives and costs is a good choice.
