Hi and welcome to the site, I’m Louie. Sorry you had to wait awhile but I’ll do my best to help.

Initially, bear with us; re-confirm and post back with the complete model number of the phone system. Additionally, who is your phone service provider please?

Customer: replied 26 days ago.
New phone is Panasonic KZ-TG3634 and my phone provider is Mediacom
Expert:  Louie replied 26 days ago.

Appreciate the additionalinformation.

Are you using Mediacom's VoiceMail service or the Panasonic's built-in answering machine?

Customer: replied 26 days ago.
Customer: replied 26 days ago.
Expert:  Louie replied 26 days ago.

A likely possibility is that for some reason, the Mediacom's VoiceMail service has been inadvertently enabled and the "...beeps every 10 minutes..." is a reminder from them that there are messages in their server.

Have you tried calling/inquiring from mediacom?

Customer: replied 26 days ago.
I had talked to Mediacom before I'm talking to you. They said I am not a voicemail costumer.
Expert:  Louie replied 26 days ago.

I understand.

If have not been tried, can we ensure that the VoiceMail detection of the Panasonic is turned off?

MENU # 3 3 2

use ▲/▼ keys to select Off

SAVE, then OFF

Customer: replied 26 days ago.
I have done this and now have to wait till 12:50 to see if phone beeps
Expert:  Louie replied 26 days ago.

Yes please and would look forward to an update by then.

Customer: replied 26 days ago.
still beeps
Expert:  Louie replied 26 days ago.

Sorry to hear of this.

is the beep heard from a handset only, from the base only, or from both?

Customer: replied 26 days ago.
Expert:  Louie replied 26 days ago.

Let's try other tests.

  • 1) on a handset, press TALK and listen/determine if the dialtone is 'pulsating' briefly before the normal continuous dialtone;
  • 2) try dialing your own number using a ahndset and listen if there would be a recording that can be heard.
Customer: replied 26 days ago.
no pulsating and get busy signal when calling my number
Expert:  Louie replied 26 days ago.

Interesting...and back to the basics; a review...have you set the Date and Time?

Customer: replied 26 days ago.
Expert:  Louie replied 26 days ago.

And the ALARM is set to Off?

Customer: replied 26 days ago.
Alarm is off.
Expert:  Louie replied 26 days ago.

Appreciate your patience.

Now we try simulating a soft reset of the phone syste

  • Disconnect all connections to/from the base unit;
  • Removed batteries of all handsets;
  • Maintain these condition for an extended period of time;
  • reconnect base unit's AC adapter only (not the telephone line)
  • install battery of 1 handset only;
  • allow system to bootup and stabilize;
  • verify VoiceMail detection is still Off (MENU # 3 3 2);
  • connect telephone line to base unit;
  • observe if beep persist after 10 minutes.
Customer: replied 26 days ago.
Did everything. still beeps at base unit. Beeps are on the 10's.
Expert:  Louie replied 26 days ago.

Since this is a " phone..." and we have performed all the readily doable in-house checks, the only test remaining would be to try the phone system to a friend's or neighbor's phone line.

Would you be comfortable giving this a try?

Customer: replied 26 days ago.
I'll try calling a friend and let you know. Do we stay connected?
Expert:  Louie replied 26 days ago.

Yes; please do a Ctrl + D to bookmark this page

or click on the links in the emails sent by the site.

When conveniently able, post back with an update and I would be prompted to reply soon as able.

Customer: replied 26 days ago.
stayed at my friends house for 1/2 hour and never beeped
Expert:  Louie replied 26 days ago.

Which then would eliminate the new Panasonic KZ-TG3634 as a suspect

...and brings us back to the telephone wires / house wiring (least likely)

...or the phone service the wires carry; Mediacom (most likely).

Are there any other devices, fax machine, emergency calling devices, security system that makes use of the same telephone line?

Customer: replied 26 days ago.
re-installed base unit and beeped . no other devices on phone line
Expert:  Louie replied 26 days ago.

By process of elimination, it would point to the Mediacom service.

Customer: replied 26 days ago.
it has to be something with beeping on the 10's. with all the taking apart the beeping still stays on the 10's
Customer: replied 26 days ago.
I had made an appointment with Mediacom yesterday and they will be here tomorrow morning at 8 AM CST
Expert:  Louie replied 26 days ago.

We have checked/tested all the possible settings/suspects and even tried another telephone line with your friend.

The only factor left would be with the phone company.

Customer: replied 26 days ago.
Thank you for all your efforts. Would you like me to let you know when problem is resolved?
Expert:  Louie replied 26 days ago.

That would be great.

Would look forward to an update when able.
