Hi Ron, I’m Louie. Sorry you had to wait awhile but I’ll do my best to help.

Initially, have you tried "unpairing" the cellular phone to the base unit?

Customer: replied 8 months ago.
Louie, I just don't know how to do that. I can't make sense of the instruction booklet. Roy
Part of the problem is the phone doesn't work that well.
Customer: replied 8 months ago.
we'll just have to work it out here.
Expert:  Louie replied 8 months ago.

I understand.

Can you please check which cellphone connection was "...accidentally got turned on..."; CELL 1 or CELL 2?

Customer: replied 8 months ago.
The wife told me it was cell#1
Expert:  Louie replied 8 months ago.

Appreciate the additional information.

Can you now please try?

  • pressing on MENU # 6 1 1 1;
  • use ▲/▼ to go to Yes to SELECT;
  • press OFF;
  • ensure CELL indicator is now turned OFF.
Customer: replied 8 months ago.
O.K. I'll try that Right now I' Printing that out so I'll know what to do
Expert:  Louie replied 8 months ago.

Yes please Roy and would appreciate an update when able.

Customer: replied 8 months ago.

O.K. I just did it . So now i'll have to go to the base unit and try it, then I'll get back to you later.
Customer: replied 8 months ago.
Louie,
I tried it but the little cell marker in the upper righthand corner is still there
Customer: replied 8 months ago.
Now it is on # 2
Expert:  Louie replied 8 months ago.

Please try again the above procedure but instead, use MENU # 6 1 1 2.

Customer: replied 8 months ago.
I tried #6112 and when I pressed the arrow up it didn't do anything
Customer: replied 8 months ago.
Hey Louie, you still with me?
Expert:  Louie replied 8 months ago.

Yes; still here and reviewing the manual.

Expert:  Louie replied 8 months ago.

Can you please try the same procedures using another handset?

Customer: replied 8 months ago.
I'm on another hand set now
Customer: replied 8 months ago.
wheni press the menu button, the phone book comes up
Expert:  Louie replied 8 months ago.

Please press the handset's OFF button first.

Customer: replied 8 months ago.
O.K. It is off now. Next?
Expert:  Louie replied 8 months ago.

Please try again:

  • pressing on MENU # 6 1 1 1 if CELL 1 is lighted or MENU # 6 1 1 2 if it is CELL 2;
  • then use ▲/▼ to go to Yes to SELECT;
  • press OFF;
  • ensure CELL indicator is now turned off.
Customer: replied 8 months ago.
I did do that. When cell#2 came up i tried usung te arroy key and it said SAVED
Expert:  Louie replied 8 months ago.

Let's try again; please always press the handset's OFF button first, then:

  • pressing on MENU # 6 1 1 1 if CELL 1 is lighted or MENU # 6 1 1 2 if it is CELL 2;
  • then use ▲/▼ to go to Yes to SELECT;
  • press OFF;
  • ensure CELL indicator is now turned off.
Customer: replied 8 months ago.
Starting with the OFF Ipressed the numbers 6112. Brought up the CELL#2 and pressed select Then trying to use the arrow key to YES it said SAVED
Customer: replied 8 months ago.
Louie,
Maybe I had just be better off to return it to the store I bought it from and let them figure it out. All I wanted to do was to use it like a regular telephone. Instead I got a gadget that is so complicated it takes a technician to get it right.
Expert:  Louie replied 8 months ago.

Roy after the OFF was first pressed, was MENU then pressed and then the # and then the 6 1 1 2 ? ...and even with the 6 1 1 1

Customer: replied 8 months ago.
I pressed the off button and waited a moment. Then pressed the menu button and then entered the #6112. Then I used the arrow key to the BLUERAY. Hit the select button until I got [email protected] Hit select and then tried using the arrow key and it jumped to saved.
Customer: replied 8 months ago.
Do you suppose after I got the CELL#2 up, I should have hit the OFF button?
Expert:  Louie replied 8 months ago.

Sorry but no; arrow buttons first to go to Yes and then the SELECT button...then the OFF button (again).

Customer: replied 8 months ago.
There is no way to get to YES after the CELL #
Expert:  Louie replied 8 months ago.

Let's give a final try; reset/re-boot the phone.

  • OFF;
  • MENU;
  • #;
  • 1 5 7
  • ▼/▲: Off;
  • SELECT;▲/▼: Yes;
  • OFF.

Allow the base to reboot itself for a minute or so.

Customer: replied 8 months ago.
O.K I entered # 157, , On cell phone I had it on offand hit select , then the off button.
Expert:  Louie replied 8 months ago.

Did the base rebooted please?

Customer: replied 8 months ago.
How do I tell it from another part of the house?
Customer: replied 8 months ago.
Apparently it didn't. I still have the cell emblem up.
Customer: replied 8 months ago.
Something just isn't right with this unit.. I had better take it back and get another not quite so complicated.
Expert:  Louie replied 8 months ago.

Perhaps a mix up in which/what buttons. Review / re-do:

  • OFF button;
  • MENU;
  • #;
  • 1 5 7
  • ▼/▲: to choose Off;
  • SELECT:▲/▼: Yes;
  • OFF button.

If still not corrective, then it would be to your advantage as you earlier posted, "...return it to the store..."

Customer: replied 8 months ago.
Well, anyway I want to thank you for trying. Thanks
Roy F
Expert:  Louie replied 8 months ago.

I understand this is not what you are hoping to hear, and I'm sorry but I don't have better news.

I realize that the above post may perhaps be not what was expected. It would appear that there is no quick-n-easy fix and neither is there a workaround; again sorry for having to be the bearer of bad news.

Customer: replied 8 months ago.
Sometimes you win and other times you lose. I still think there is a problem with the unit we don't know about. Thanks again
Expert:  Louie replied 8 months ago.

Good luck and thank you too for the opportunity to be able to exchange information.
