Customer Question

I have a KXTGA680 handset for my phone. The bell symbol, with a line through it,
is displayed on the screen of one of the two handsets. I must have pressed something by mistake. The phone, which is in the bedroom, will not ring until I can figure out how to remove the "bell off" symbol on the handset screen. Please help me. Thank you.

Hello & Welcome,

Sorry to hear of any issue you are having with your phones.

To help you with this issue, may I ask:

1) The FULL Model Number of the phone SYSTEM you are working with? If this is a cordless system, that model should be printed on a sticker on the bottom or back of the main base unit and START with KX-TG, but have NO "A" in it.

Thanks for that model.

Let me look that up for you.

Hi again,

OK - here is the process to set the ringer volume - on that handset.

1) Pick up the handset while the system is not in use (not on a call).

2) Press MENU # ***** 6 0

3) Use the UP or DOWN arrows to change the ringer volume to the desired setting.

4) Press SAVE.

5) Press OFF.

As an example, I have a link to a video that shows this same process. NOTE: The handset in your system may NOT match exactly (different number of buttons, etc.), but the process is the same.
