Hi Karen and welcome to JustAnswer,Thank you for the question and your patience. Should you still need assistance for information purposes only...Initially, bear with us; re-confirm and post back with the complete model number of the phone system.
Have you tried unplugging the base unit? ...and plugging it back in but to another outlet?
Yes please Karen. The idea is to attempt a soft reset and if that does not work, then the RESET through the MENU/SELECT.
Can you try the unplugging for an extended period of time? ...and then the RESET if necessary?
These other than as an attempt of a fix would also serve as a test.
Yes; sorry as I am trying to check what other easy user doable tries as it would appear to be an internal hardware issue
Can you please try while in idle mode, press MENU/SELECT once on the handset and then enter 3 6 4 #. Wait for a confirmation tone.
The only other try is to unplug the base unit and remove the batteries from the handset for an extended period of time. The idea is to simulate a soft reset. Perhaps an hour or 2.
Can you please give this a try?
