Hello, I’m Nathan, and I’ll be assisting you today. My livelihood depends on your positive feedback, so your satisfaction is my highest priority.
Sorry to hear you’re having trouble, Ted.
Are you referring to a cordless phone system, perhaps KX-TG6631?Or to a desk phone system? Can you please recheck the model number for me, and tell me specifically what is not working?
The model number begins with KX-TG (not six), and has 4 numbers after that.
So this is a cordless system. There are no "jacks", you would have a main base station, and then several wireless handsets in each room.
I'm understanding you that one of those handsets is not working - do you see anything on its display screen? Can you get a dial tone on it?
I was trying to diagnose the problem to potentially help you fix it yourself.
The battery is the only thing about these that can be fixed.
You can swap the battery with another one of the handsets. If the phone starts working again, then you just need to buy a new battery.
If it doesn't change, the handset is faulty and would have to be replaced.
These units cannot be repaired, and there are no parts for them.
If it comes to that, you can buy another (used) handset here: http://amzn.to/1stuA7r
If you need new batteries, you can get those here: http://amzn.to/1Va2f1n
If one is going out, you likely need others too, and they are cheaper in larger sets.
If you prefer, you may want to opt to replace the entire system, as this is getting to be an older model and replacement components will only get harder to find, as your system continues to fail piece by piece.
You could get a whole new system for not much more than you'd spend on a handset and a new set of batteries: http://amzn.to/1stxmcN
